All over the world, brothers and sisters are hosting Journey of Generosity retreats. You are part of this growing community of people who have experienced heart transformation in your own generosity and now seek to share it with friends and family. We are grateful to serve you in this effort! Generosity Path will help guide you through the process of hosting a Journey of Generosity (JOG). We will provide you with a facilitator and materials. Most hosts provide the venue and food for the JOG as a gift to their friends. Others have the attendees pay for the venue and cover the food. While Generosity Path will do everything possible to help, you will want to be prepared to spend time making arrangements, sending invitations, and answering questions.

    Getting Started

    Getting Started

    6-8 Weeks before your JOG

    Initiate

    • Determine who is the initiator of the Journey of Generosity:
      • If the Host is the initiator inviting their friends to attend, the Host will contact Generosity Path to register your event.
      • If the Facilitator is initiating organising a Journey of Generosity through a church, the Facilitator will contact Generosity Path to register your event.

    REgister

    • Arrange your event details, and once they are finalised, contact Generosity Path at events@generositypath.org with the following information so that we can register your event with us and help you in the process of preparing:
      • Venue, including food and beverage arrangements
      • Date (most take place on a Saturday, starting 9am to 4pm)
      • Facilitator Name
      • List of Invitees (a JOG aims to have between 12-20 people, so you want to invite at least 20-25 couples/40 people in total)

    INVITE

    • Determine how you would to handle your invitations:
      • You can handle invitations internally.
      • Alternatively, Generosity Path can produce a branded invitation with details of how to RSVP, dates, time and location. This is in PDF format to be emailed round/printed etc.
    • Send your invitations.

AT LEAST 4 WEEKS BEFORE YOUR JOG

    Connect

    • Contact Generosity Path at events@generositypath.org to discuss printing and sign-in sheets 1 month before the JOG. Generosity Path will arrange for the resources to be printed and posted to the JOG Host. Printing and delivery can take up to 2 weeks.

    PREPARE

    • Getting your A/V ready:
      • 2 weeks before the JOG, Generosity Path will check in with you on details for A/V for the venue.
      • The Facilitator will bring all videos downloaded onto their laptop for projecting or connecting to a TV screen.
    • Your contact sheet:
      • 1 week before the JOG, if not already sent, the Host emails Generosity Path the list of final attendees to make a pre-populated contact sheet to be printed and used to capture future host interest.

At Least 2 weeks before your JOG

    Connect

    • Connect with the Facilitator of your JOG at least 2 weeks before the event to ensure the programme and timings are finalised and both parties understand expectations.

    AFTER YOUR JOG

    Follow-up
